Ensuring Inclusivity

At Permanent, we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We aim to meet or exceed the accessibility standards set out by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, a globally recognized standard for web accessibility. We understand that accessibility is an ongoing process and are dedicated to making our website as accessible as possible.

Accessibility Features

Here are some of the features we have implemented to make our website more accessible:

  • Alternative text for all images, ensuring that visually impaired users receive meaningful descriptions of images.
  • Keyboard navigation support for users who cannot use a mouse.
  • Clear and consistent headings and labels to aid screen readers in understanding the content structure.
  • High color contrast between text and background to improve readability.
  • Captions and transcripts for multimedia content, providing access to audio and video information.

A responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes and devices.

We value user feedback and are dedicated to further improving the accessibility of our website and applications. If you encounter any accessibility issues or have suggestions for improvement, please don't hesitate to contact us at support@permanent.org, and we will do our best to address your concerns.

Accessibility Audit

We participated in Knowbility’s Accessibility Internet Rally (AIR) competition in order to audit our site and learn more about improving accessibility for our marketing site. As a team, we developed new skills and now possess a well-rounded knowledge of inclusive web design.
Knowbility Certificate of AIR Participation. This certificate is presented to Permanent.org to recognize outstanding volunteer effort as a Team Member in the 2023 Accessibility Internet Rally (AIR). Eighteen nonprofit websites serving community needs were made more accessible as a result of their contribution to the collaborative teaching, learning and applying of digital accessibility skills in the 2023 AIR program.
